Another Weekend

Quarter-finals of the World Cup is starting this weekend the Germany vs. Argentina game. Should be exciting! England has made it through too to face Portugal in the quarter-finals. Come on England! Put some welly into it!

Not much to report on really. The weather is getting EXTREMELY hot (with temperatures of 33 degrees C at 10am in the morning). Looks like we are going to have a sizzler of a Summer this year in Taiwan. No news of typhoon yet, but I'm sure they will be on their way soon. I think I will just stay indoors with the air conditioning on!

Amelie is certainly growing up. She's able to walk, run and jump now. She still find some stair daunting, but hopefully her confidence will grow. To be honest, there isn't much stairs for her to practise. Maybe we should take her to Taipei 101 and let her climb there. She can be a handful at times, but when she sleeps, she's at her most peaceful state.

I have spending a lot of time taking random pictures in and around Taipei. I quite like taking the night shots, I find them more interesting and challenging. I've even bought a portable camera stand to take night shots so to reduce the blurry images, but sometimes its quite difficult to use since space is not in abundant supply on the side-walks of Taipei. Anyway here are a few shots I have taken. Hope you enjoy them!

What's planned for the weekend? Nothing much really, just going to relax on Saturday and on Sunday attend Klaus's wedding gig.

On another note, the Random Lunch Selector (RLS) is getting more pictures. Go to my homepage to find out more and have a go!

Homeward Bound (For 2 Weeks)

We're setting off later this evening to UK for a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne again, not to mention to catch with friends and family and of course do a bit of driving! I haven't been driving for more than a year now since I have been in Taiwan, feels like my legs have gone! We're taking a lot pineapple cakes, which Taiwan is famous for, back to friends and family in UK, and some other gifts too. On the way back, we'll bring back all sorts of stuff to Taiwan, so another post on that when I get back. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online as often, but will try my best to keep my blog updated as much as possible while I am over in UK. My grand parents also arrived in UK from Hong Kong to attend my brother Jimmy's wedding. So time would probably be spent travelling around and take to places to see and have fun. Don't worry, as always, I'll be taking pictures! It will be Amelie's first time visit to UK...

Goodbye P-100

I'm just going to upload the last ever set of photos from our loyal Sony P-100. I will update this post tomorrow. Yup, the Sony P-100 is a gonna. It ain't gonna rise from the ashes, this time... For now here are some photos taken today around Taipei using the Sony P-100 before the evening's accident, which involved Chien-yu, her foot and the hard marble floor we have in our room. We now got a good excuse to get a new, better digital camera. Its going to have to be a Sony one though, because I invested in a 1GB memory stick. Need to make use of that as much as I can! Sigh, money, money and more money.

Another Day Of Rest

We spent another day of resting since Amelie and Chien-yu have started to feel ill. Its not been good since we came back with all the hacking coughs and runny noses. Its a lot cooler than it is in Taiwan. Today's highest reading was a mere 20 degress celsius. Even with the cooler weather, we still decided to go for a car ride. We set off in the morning making a pit-stop at Asda, a local supermarket to buy some Camaline lotion for Amelie. She seemed to have developed a rash on her skin and has been scratching a lot. So this Camaline stuff should ease her itchiness until he cold symtons are gone. From there, we took the road which lead us pass my old secondary high school, Stamford High School and my college, Ashton Sixth Form College. Many things has changed at both education institutes, with additional buildings and new paintwork around the buildings. I also spotted that a lot more house are being developed in the area. Ashton has certainly changed a lot since I last reme...
