pYzam

You might have noticed that I had recently changed my blog template/design. Although I like the Blogger engine, it lacked some of the really good looking templates which WordPress.com has. So I did a search around on the web and found this website, pYzam ( http://www.pyzam.com/bloggertemplates ). It has many Blogger templates which are available for free. Some groovy, some dark, some bright, some are scenic and some abstract ones too. The choice is almost unlimited. I say almost, because if you look closely, you will notice they follow a basic style of two-columns in square boxes, with a header box which displays the blog's name and description and depending on the theme you choose, the background is different with different combinations of colours. Still for me, its more choice, and I like to have choice. The default templates provided by Blogger are great, but it would be nice to have more :-) Applying the new template is not rocket science either. You just sign-in into...

Picasa & Blogger

Not a bad combination, and the thing is, its actually quick and user friendly. I normally have a lot of photographs which I like to share on my blog. Alright, not all of them brilliant, but I like to share them nonetheless. Having Picasa to organise the photographs and allowing me to upload (a maximum of four) photos per post saves me a lot of time and effort. I think I will use this Picasa/Blogger combination for posts with photographs, and use the email-to-blog feature for post of a textual nature. I think I found a good combination which works. Do you use other ways to blog? What do you think? Let me know, it will be interesting to find out.

Initial Impressions

Hmm... It seems to work, to a certain extent, but I am not sure.  The most annoying thing is the extra line spaces it generates when it Flickr creates a post on my Blogger.com site.  It just looks stupid and I have to log into Blogger.com to edit text of the post.  Perhaps there is some setting I need to set on Flickr. Another problem I faced is I find Flickr not very intuitive from a user perspective.  For example, I can't locate the email settings for the email blog on Flickr that easily.  I have to go through a couple of links before I get to the settings page I want to see.  Hence why I am not sure where things are or placed on Flickr.  Perhaps there's a learning curve to Flickr which I have yet to discover. Another small thing I see is that since starting the marriage of Flickr/Blogger.com, the Blogger.com menu bar at the top of my blog seem to have half-disappeared.  Very strange indeed! I will need to try this out for a little b...

Let's Try Again

Let's Try Again , originally uploaded by cheungs7 . OK, not bad, just a few of things:- 1. The picture thumbnail is a little big for my blog page, so I changed the setting on Flickr to use the medium size thumbnail. 2. Can only attach one photograph to the email, so only one picture is shown on the blog. 3. The line spacing went a little weird, so I had to the edit the previous post on Blogger.com. Try not to insert empty lines, since Flickr will insert a break line tag automatically for each new line. Hope this post looks better now!
