pYzam

You might have noticed that I had recently changed my blog template/design. Although I like the Blogger engine, it lacked some of the really good looking templates which WordPress.com has. So I did a search around on the web and found this website, pYzam (http://www.pyzam.com/bloggertemplates).

It has many Blogger templates which are available for free. Some groovy, some dark, some bright, some are scenic and some abstract ones too. The choice is almost unlimited. I say almost, because if you look closely, you will notice they follow a basic style of two-columns in square boxes, with a header box which displays the blog's name and description and depending on the theme you choose, the background is different with different combinations of colours. Still for me, its more choice, and I like to have choice. The default templates provided by Blogger are great, but it would be nice to have more :-)

Applying the new template is not rocket science either. You just sign-in into your Blogger dashboard, select "Layout" and then "Edit HTML" and then copy and paste your new template into the HTML text area. However be warned, any widgets you added previously may get deleted. You may want to edit the new template to include the widgets you added previously, or just make a back-up and add the widgets again afterwards. You might have already noticed that many of my links have disappeared because of applying this new template.

Anyway give it a go if you have a Blogger blog. There are other things at pYzam which may tickle your fancy too, so take a look around. Enjoy!

Homeward Bound (For 2 Weeks)

We're setting off later this evening to UK for a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne again, not to mention to catch with friends and family and of course do a bit of driving! I haven't been driving for more than a year now since I have been in Taiwan, feels like my legs have gone! We're taking a lot pineapple cakes, which Taiwan is famous for, back to friends and family in UK, and some other gifts too. On the way back, we'll bring back all sorts of stuff to Taiwan, so another post on that when I get back. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online as often, but will try my best to keep my blog updated as much as possible while I am over in UK. My grand parents also arrived in UK from Hong Kong to attend my brother Jimmy's wedding. So time would probably be spent travelling around and take to places to see and have fun. Don't worry, as always, I'll be taking pictures! It will be Amelie's first time visit to UK...

Goodbye P-100

I'm just going to upload the last ever set of photos from our loyal Sony P-100. I will update this post tomorrow. Yup, the Sony P-100 is a gonna. It ain't gonna rise from the ashes, this time... For now here are some photos taken today around Taipei using the Sony P-100 before the evening's accident, which involved Chien-yu, her foot and the hard marble floor we have in our room. We now got a good excuse to get a new, better digital camera. Its going to have to be a Sony one though, because I invested in a 1GB memory stick. Need to make use of that as much as I can! Sigh, money, money and more money.

Another Day Of Rest

We spent another day of resting since Amelie and Chien-yu have started to feel ill. Its not been good since we came back with all the hacking coughs and runny noses. Its a lot cooler than it is in Taiwan. Today's highest reading was a mere 20 degress celsius. Even with the cooler weather, we still decided to go for a car ride. We set off in the morning making a pit-stop at Asda, a local supermarket to buy some Camaline lotion for Amelie. She seemed to have developed a rash on her skin and has been scratching a lot. So this Camaline stuff should ease her itchiness until he cold symtons are gone. From there, we took the road which lead us pass my old secondary high school, Stamford High School and my college, Ashton Sixth Form College. Many things has changed at both education institutes, with additional buildings and new paintwork around the buildings. I also spotted that a lot more house are being developed in the area. Ashton has certainly changed a lot since I last reme...
