Another Step Up The Age Ladder

..and it was my first birthday in Taiwan. I turned 27 yesterday with the company of my dear supporting, loving wife, Chien-yu and of course my growing sweet daughter, Amelie. Chien-yu's Aunt was also there, I'd like to thank her for taking care of Amelie while we are working.

In addition to my close family in Taiwan, I was also joined by close friends which I have made since I arrived in Taiwan, who have welcomed me to their country and way of life. Who are these people? Well first there's kind Mary who always help me order food in the local language when I get a bit stuck and ensure I get the daily required amount of water. Then there's Hank, the automation king, who sometimes can be blunt, but gives us all a good reality check. Next we have kind, caring Max who listens well and gives good advice for all situations. Then we have Vanessa, who has been my nutritionist since my bout of Gout, carefully advising me what I can and can't eat. Then there's David Lin, a sociable guy and always jolly and so positive. Of course, lets not forget Gavin, the clever science geek with a good sense of humour. Next we have Marian, also sociable and know a lot about Taipei eateries. Then we have David Hsu, with an artistic eye, showing us a different world through his photography and quirky art. Finally Steve, with his boyish charms and (in his words) good looks.

Thank you all for joining me on my 27th birthday!

Rainy Weekend

What a way to end the weekend, being soaked top-to-bottom in heavy rain! It came very suddenly and we just wanted to get home, so we took the chance and ran all the way home in the rain. It was refreshing actually, I have had a lot on my mind recently and the being soaked certainly gave the brain a bit of a reboot. But then I realised Taiwan rain is quite acidic, not a good thing. Anyhow, I have updated my homepage with something useful for the lunch hours. Its a random lunch selector, which basically displays a picture of a local eatery which we would go to for lunch. It has been pain in the rear-end when deciding where to go for lunch. There are so many choices in the area where I work, so having something like this may ease the troublesome decision which we all make on a daily basis. I've also made use of the ned 8MB ADSL line by doing a bit of downloading and listening to online radio. Certainly makes a difference and if you guys can get it, then get it! I just read th...

Superman Snappy

Snap the man of steel and score points! My first attempt, I got 82. This will just have to do until I get a new camera.

Homeward Bound (For 2 Weeks)

We're setting off later this evening to UK for a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne again, not to mention to catch with friends and family and of course do a bit of driving! I haven't been driving for more than a year now since I have been in Taiwan, feels like my legs have gone! We're taking a lot pineapple cakes, which Taiwan is famous for, back to friends and family in UK, and some other gifts too. On the way back, we'll bring back all sorts of stuff to Taiwan, so another post on that when I get back. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online as often, but will try my best to keep my blog updated as much as possible while I am over in UK. My grand parents also arrived in UK from Hong Kong to attend my brother Jimmy's wedding. So time would probably be spent travelling around and take to places to see and have fun. Don't worry, as always, I'll be taking pictures! It will be Amelie's first time visit to UK...
