The Italians Take Centre Stage

Italy have taken the 2006 World Cup trophy home this weekend after their 5-3 penalty kick win over France. It was an exciting weekend and so exciting it was that this morning I have noticed a lot of people not at work today. Probably because the final was on at 3am Taiwan time! Anyhow, well done to the Italians! On the same note, I want to thank the German team for giving Portugal a good kicking with a 3-1 score!

In other news, I finally got my haircut. My head feels a lot lighter and breezier, although it bring littel comfort as we are hitting temperatures of 36 degrees C in Taipei. I hate it when its hot, humic and sticky. Thank the lord for air-conditioning! Today though the sun has backed-off a little today wit rather cloudy skies. It looks like we are in for some down pour later this afternoon. I'm hearing rolls of thunder at the moment...doesn't look good weather-wise.

Not really done much over the weekend. Just trying to stay out of the heat. How about today? Well feeling a little dazed and confused as I didnt get much decent sleep last night. Also, today's the first day for the project which I as on. I'm not sure what needs to be done. Maybe I should speak to my project lead and ask for directions. But generally, I'm loosing my motivation to work. I'm in the "can't be bothered" mode of thinking today. It just seems to me that after working for 5 years now, I haven't seemed to achieved much, even when I know I have done my best and have put in more effort. There doesn't seem to be much recognition or reward at the moment, not even in the salary I receive every month. It just all seems meaningless at the moment. I think I need some time-out to re-focus my mind and maybe search for something new. I'm not sure whether I would be productive at all today. I think I need someone shouting the commands at me today, just so I can keep busy, otherwise, I feel like I'm going to drift away.

I came across something called Earth Clock, a nifty desktop widget which tells you the time and show you real-time images of the Earth. Go check it out at this site!

Well, the rain is here as predicted, its absolutely chucking it down! Maybe its time to go back to work, sigh.

Homeward Bound (For 2 Weeks)

We're setting off later this evening to UK for a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne again, not to mention to catch with friends and family and of course do a bit of driving! I haven't been driving for more than a year now since I have been in Taiwan, feels like my legs have gone! We're taking a lot pineapple cakes, which Taiwan is famous for, back to friends and family in UK, and some other gifts too. On the way back, we'll bring back all sorts of stuff to Taiwan, so another post on that when I get back. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online as often, but will try my best to keep my blog updated as much as possible while I am over in UK. My grand parents also arrived in UK from Hong Kong to attend my brother Jimmy's wedding. So time would probably be spent travelling around and take to places to see and have fun. Don't worry, as always, I'll be taking pictures! It will be Amelie's first time visit to UK...

Goodbye P-100

I'm just going to upload the last ever set of photos from our loyal Sony P-100. I will update this post tomorrow. Yup, the Sony P-100 is a gonna. It ain't gonna rise from the ashes, this time... For now here are some photos taken today around Taipei using the Sony P-100 before the evening's accident, which involved Chien-yu, her foot and the hard marble floor we have in our room. We now got a good excuse to get a new, better digital camera. Its going to have to be a Sony one though, because I invested in a 1GB memory stick. Need to make use of that as much as I can! Sigh, money, money and more money.

Superman Snappy

Snap the man of steel and score points! My first attempt, I got 82. This will just have to do until I get a new camera.
