Operation A8

After a lot of discussion and of course gossiping at the lab, we decided to make a venture to Shinkong's A8, where our colleague Alex's love interest works as a sales assistant for jewellery. We all have been giving Alex a lot of tips and advice to impress the girl and for Alex to win the girl's heart. Especially the seasoned pros like David L and Hank (his "father") had been giving advice for almost two weeks. Let's hope something works out for Alex.

Her photo had been doing the rounds before we went out on our operation, and there have been a general consensus that she looks very pretty, and quite a match for Alex. Even our David H went "Oooh!" when he first saw the picture. So she's got to be something eh?

However of course, what we've seen on the photograph may not be a full representation of what the A8 girl is actually like. So commenced Operation "A8".

On Thursday, we decided to get together for dinner at Niko Niko, a modern sushi restaurant on the 6th floor of nearby Shinkong A4. The food was great, and we had all enjoyed it very much. We have ordered too much, but it I thought it was worth it.

After dinner, we ventured to A8 to see this mysterious girl. She stood out to us as she wore this strange white blouse. Aparrently its the jewellery store's uniform. She looked pretty from the distance, so Chien-yu and I decided to take a closer look, pretending we didn't know Alex as he ask her what she was doing after work.

I wanted to take more photos of her, but was relunctant after my interruption earlier, when I wanted to take a picture of some the bakery goods at the super-market in the base and told that I was not allowed to take pictures inside Shinkong. What have they got to hide I wonder? I felt my freedom was a little violated.

Anyway, after seeing this A8 girl, we thought she wasn't too bad actually and suited Alex. David L was more interested in another sales girl on a nearby counter. Hank and David H just said "No Comment" and David H added "Don't worry Alex, she isn't my type". Alex wasn't sure he was happy or a little cheesed off.

Much discussion took place with the other lab colleagues who wasn't asking. I think Alex has had enough and wanted to talk about something else. Dont' worry Alex, we will. Next week's topic is on Gavin...his girlfriend is coming back to Taiwan from Birmingham, UK.

Rainy Weekend

What a way to end the weekend, being soaked top-to-bottom in heavy rain! It came very suddenly and we just wanted to get home, so we took the chance and ran all the way home in the rain. It was refreshing actually, I have had a lot on my mind recently and the being soaked certainly gave the brain a bit of a reboot. But then I realised Taiwan rain is quite acidic, not a good thing. Anyhow, I have updated my homepage with something useful for the lunch hours. Its a random lunch selector, which basically displays a picture of a local eatery which we would go to for lunch. It has been pain in the rear-end when deciding where to go for lunch. There are so many choices in the area where I work, so having something like this may ease the troublesome decision which we all make on a daily basis. I've also made use of the ned 8MB ADSL line by doing a bit of downloading and listening to online radio. Certainly makes a difference and if you guys can get it, then get it! I just read th...

Superman Snappy

Snap the man of steel and score points! My first attempt, I got 82. This will just have to do until I get a new camera.

Homeward Bound (For 2 Weeks)

We're setting off later this evening to UK for a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne again, not to mention to catch with friends and family and of course do a bit of driving! I haven't been driving for more than a year now since I have been in Taiwan, feels like my legs have gone! We're taking a lot pineapple cakes, which Taiwan is famous for, back to friends and family in UK, and some other gifts too. On the way back, we'll bring back all sorts of stuff to Taiwan, so another post on that when I get back. Not sure whether I'll be able to get online as often, but will try my best to keep my blog updated as much as possible while I am over in UK. My grand parents also arrived in UK from Hong Kong to attend my brother Jimmy's wedding. So time would probably be spent travelling around and take to places to see and have fun. Don't worry, as always, I'll be taking pictures! It will be Amelie's first time visit to UK...
