After a week without a camera, we got ourselves to Bor Ai Road, near Taipei Main Station, where there are many camera outlets after work on Friday night. After walking into a couple of shops, we struck a shop which had two sales guys, who were very helpful and professional. Chien-yu already had eyes on the Panasonic Lumix FX-01 and the Nikon Coolpix S6, but was undecided which one was the better one. After 30 minutes of introductions and demostration, we opted for the Lumix FX-01, with a tripod, 1GB SD card, camera cleaning kit, LCD protective stickers and a Panasonic Lumix camera case thrown by the sales guy, for a sum of NTD$12800. At last, something to shoot with!
I'm not sure whether to get another separate one for myself, since the Lumix was chosen by Chien-yu. I still have my eyes on the Sony DSC-H5, but the Canon S5 IS looks good too, as well as the price being a little cheaper. The other alternative is to fix the Sony P-100, but we are not sure how much would it be to fix it. We shall see.
Today (Saturday), we went to Taipei 101 and Shin-kong Shopping area for a little walk. Of course it was a great opportunity to give the FX-01 a little run. One of the features I liked about the FX-01 is the multi-burst shot option, which lets you take eight continuous pictures while the button is pressed down. This improves the chances of getting a good picture and of course very good for taking pictures of Amelie running and walking!
Amelie had been enjoying a little play-time with some other children who where at the Shin-kong shopping centre. She actually didn't really want to stay in the shopping centre, and wanted to go out and see things. Luckily, Shin-kong had a large balcony area with some fountains and it was in the shade, so we took a little time-out there. It was fun watching Amelie playing with the other children. They tried to talk to her, but I'm not sure whether Amelie understands them yet! Ah well, patience is a virtue.
