1up.com for the last three years had been compiling a list of free games for 2008 which you can either play online or download. I just thought I'd give it a mention here, because I know sometimes, when you are so bored, you just don't know what to do, so why not play a game to burn those idle minutes?
The list has many games from all types of genres. I came upon "LinCity", a Sim City-like game which was developed for Linux, but is now available for Win32 platforms. Its not bad for a free city simulation game. I certainly recommend it to you to try it.
Another one which caught my eye was "Beats of Rage", a game paying homage to the classis Sega side-scroller beat-em up "Streets of Rage" on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. Rather than seeing your usual Axel, Blade characters, Beats of Rage features characters from the "King of Fighters" series. I haven't tried this yet, but will give this a spin over the weekend.
