The New Arndale & Memories

Today we decided to venture into the city centre of Manchester, where the infamous Arndale Centre is located. We went shopping for a Louis Vuitton bag for the mother-in-law, costing a marvellous GBP545! Luckily it wasn't out of our pocket! We went for a walk around the newly built/refurbished Arndale Centre. It certainly was different and a lot brighter. It seems that the city has spent a lot of money in the city centre. It certainly looks busier in the city centre with many people milling around going about their business. I think the term "People Mountain, People Sea" was appropriate for today. Amelie was in a right strop and I couldn't hold back, I had to give her a good telling off. Sigh...its been on tough on all of us today, and it wasn't a good day. Chien-yu didn't even get to the shoes she wanted to buy. Nevermind, better luck next time. After a stressful morning in the city centre, I went for a stroll back in my home-town Ashton-under-Lyne t

The Trafford Centre

We went back to the Trafford Centre to day to return Amelie's dress which she didn't like and also gave Chien and I a chance to buy the various gifts to take back to Taiwan for the good people at my workplace and at Chien's too. Our main stop was at Thornton's, famous for their chocolates and sweets, and we bought a lot! We had to ditch Amelie with my mum and grandparents so we could do the shopping. It was a bad thing to do, but it was the only way to sneak away while Amelie was occupied so that we could get the gift shopping down swiftly. I also took the opportunity to take some pictures of the shopping centre, apparently one of the biggest in Europe. Amelie seemed to enjoyed the dolphin water fountain which squirted water at high pressure over two stories high! Nothing to report really, just more shopping and more money spent :-p. No games for me a long time now!

Another Day Of Rest

We spent another day of resting since Amelie and Chien-yu have started to feel ill. Its not been good since we came back with all the hacking coughs and runny noses. Its a lot cooler than it is in Taiwan. Today's highest reading was a mere 20 degress celsius. Even with the cooler weather, we still decided to go for a car ride. We set off in the morning making a pit-stop at Asda, a local supermarket to buy some Camaline lotion for Amelie. She seemed to have developed a rash on her skin and has been scratching a lot. So this Camaline stuff should ease her itchiness until he cold symtons are gone. From there, we took the road which lead us pass my old secondary high school, Stamford High School and my college, Ashton Sixth Form College. Many things has changed at both education institutes, with additional buildings and new paintwork around the buildings. I also spotted that a lot more house are being developed in the area. Ashton has certainly changed a lot since I last reme
