New Sogo

During the Chinese New Year holidays, there wasn't much to do, so we went to the newly opened Sogo in the city centre. The building looked very modern, and I was quite impressesed with the design on the exterior with it soothing turquoise colours. The new Sogo is only across the road from the old one, which is still opened for business. But if you want the high quality, designer label things, I suggest you go to the new one to fulfil your shopping requirements. I was even more surprised to find a small Japanese garden on one of the floor in this new shopping mall. They certainly spend a lot of money on this building. Amelie as usual was running around in the new place and exploring its different corners. She evern tried to get into the Japanese garden, which was out of bounds. I think the Japanese garden was a Feng-Shui thing. I didnt think the owners would be impressed if Amelie went into the garden and disturbed their cosmic balance! There many things there amongst the expen

Happy Chinese New Year! Usher In The Year Of The Golden Pig

Happy Chinese New Year! Another Chinese New Year in Taiwan, and as usual, I get into the kitchen and rustle up a dinner. I've been particularly lazy, so didnt really put too much effort this year. We had an addition of the sister-in-law this as she as returned to Taiwan, so another to deal with for the coming new year. The good thing is that we get a whole week off from work. Its a good thing I guess, having some time off from work, but the other side of the coin is that I'm at home most of the time in the presence of my in-laws. Hmm...nevermind. Happy Chinese New Year you all, I hope this year bring you all much good luck, good health and good fortune!

Art.com - Art Pad

Marian sent me this link . Its an online art canvas where, when you are in an artistic mood, you can go there and paint yourself a picture without having to dig out the oil paints, easel and getting the living room all messy. The best part is that there is an "undo" button in case you made a wrong slip of the virtual art brush. If only life had an "undo" button, it would be pretty sweet...well, since there isn't, paint yourself a picture! Here's one I did earlier. What do you think?

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 7

Final part to the photographs for Vanessa's birthday. More pairing shots, especially one of David and Mars... True Love again? I think so! Poor Alex.

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 6

Part six to Vanessa's birthday photos. After the birthday song, wish making and blowing out the candles, more group shots and other shots.

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 5

Part five to the birthday photos for Vanessa. This is like a miracle, and probably the only time we could get to take pictures of Vanessa on her own! Hsuyo and I took the opportunity to take as many photos as possible! Its camera snapping time!

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 4

Part four to Vanessa's birthday photos. As you may remember Vanessa is rather camera shy, so group photos for now. Later in the afternoon, we brought out the cake while Vanessa treated us to drinks.

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 3

Part three of the photos taken on Vanessa's birthday. At Mr. Pot, you can choose a selection of meats. I opted for lamb, but because its all-you-can-eat, I then went for the pork, chicken and beef! Hank seemed to be happy too because its all-you-can-eat. We were going to go to a place called Auntie Rose for a spot of western style lunch, but Hank complained that you won't get full and it doesn't taste good, so we went for Mr. Pot instead. Gavin our "eating machine" seemed to have fun too (considering he went to a similiar place the night before!). After lunch, we went outside getting ready for some group photos.

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 2

Part two to Vanessa's birthday photographs. Here's a picture of Kelvin and Hsuyo getting more food. The layout of Mr. Pot is rather unique in that there is a conveyor belt, much like the ones you see in a sushi restaurant, going round and round with plates of hot pot ingrediants like prawns, fish, chicken, various types of fish balls and squid. All very yum looking! We simply grabbed whatever we want from the conveyor belt and put in our hot pot of boiling soup stock.

Vanessa's Birthday Photos - Part 1

As mentioned before, here are some pictures taken on Vanessa's birthday. Hope you had a great day Vanessa! We went to an all-you-can-eat hot pot place for lunch. I was so stuffed. I nearly fell asleep in the afternoon! Here we have a picture of Grace and Claire. Claire recently joined the workplace, so welcome Claire! The place we went to was near Kun Yang MRT station, called Mr. Pot (I can hear the pot jokes all ready from my mates in UK now). Because it was all-you-can-eat, there was a lot to choose from, especially the different sauces used for dipping!

Happy Birthday Vanessa!

Quick birthday wishes to Vanessa! Hope you have a wonderful day! As you may (or not) know, Vanessa is often camera shy, hence I can only post photos of her when she is in a group photo. Lets hope the photos I take today will include one on her own :-p
