Chester Zoo Trip

We went to Chester Zoo today. Luckily the weather was great and got to see a lot of the animals out in the open. Even the peacocks were happy and spread their tails for us to admire. The most impressive part of the zoo was the Butterfly Kingdom. We were able to walk around in the enclosure and the butterflies flew around you freely. It was great, but mind that you don't swat them or anything, the zoo keeper will not be pleased! Amelie certainly enjoyed the day and managed to name a lot of the animals. The zoo was quite big, so towards the end of the day, Amelie got a ride on the Daddy Shoulders Express. We had a great time, and would think to go there again sometime in the future. Sophia's Visit

Had a visit from my niece, Sophia, today. She is coming along nicely, but always seems to have a worried look on her. Poor Sophia, don't worry! More photos here .

An Evening Walk Around Town

After dinner, decided I needed a walk and also try to take some pictures using the recently bought digital SLR camera. Want to get more familar with its features so I can use it in a more proficient way. It was a nice summer evening, being still bright at 8pm. Amelie decided to tag along with me, and got an ice-cream out of it too! More photos here .

Mario Kart Wii Win!

Recently bought Mario Kart Wii and thoroughly enjoyed it. Decided to use Amelie's Wii character (known as a Mii) to get through all the stages and cups and finally got this nice finishing pose. Amelie was certainly happy, even though it was me playing the game for her!

Centre Piece For Amelie

Amelie's drawing of the beach and the sea was made the centre piece for a nursery arty display! Her drawing and fine motor skills are coming along indeed! Perhaps we have a real artist in the family!

Cadbury's Chocolate Factory

Decided to take Amelie to the chocolate factory near Birmingham for a day trip. We got a lot free chocolate as well as buying a lot of chocolate to take back home at discounted prices. It was a fun sunny day and learned a lot about the origins of chocolate, and the rise of the Cadbury's Chocolate Empire. Here's a picture of high-heeled shoes, made from chocolate. I thought it was quite cool. Perhaps chocolate can be tool for art too? More photos here .
