Another Close To The Weekend

Its a rainy close too, pouring with rain as I was cooking dinner. Maybe God is telling me something about my cooking. Ah well. I haven't been taking much photos recently, mainly because I haven't had the chance, secondly, lost a bit of creation/motivation and finally, I hate the new camera. Yes, that's right, the one we bought not long ago. I'm seriously not impressed by the quality of the pictures and 6 times out of 10 when a picture is taken, it just crashes with card read/write error. I almost threw it in the pond in the local park, thats how frustrated I was. So I have been scouting around for a better camera. Perhaps I should plump for a digital SLR camera, but they are pretty expensive, especially the many different lenses. Sigh. My wish list is just getting bigger. So far, I want the following: - Digital SLR Camera (Sony or a Nikon). Sony Playstation 3. Nintendo Wii. Sony Ericsson W800i (but will settle for a Nokia 5300). A Giant bicycle with child sea

Dev-C++

Recently I wanted to get my head back into the programming game, just to refresh my mind. But to do this, I needed tools, tools which I prefer to free. For C++ programming, I found this IDE, Dev-C++ , which is clutter-free, works as expected and most of all, its free from a group called Bloodshed Software . I never really got much C++ programming experience, although I am familiar with many of the programming concepts of OO. At university , we used Java for OO courses, so I thought I'd give C++ a go and see what its like.

www.icsharpcode.net

Want a decent IDE for development in C#, but can't afford official one from Microsoft? Well, praise the Lord for open-source! I did a bit of surfing and discovered IC#Code , a free, functional, featured IDE for writing applications in C#, ASP.NET and Visual Basic .NET. Give it a whirl. I wanted to get back to some programming in C#, and like many people, could not afford the price tag Microsoft puts on Visual Studio .NET. So I found a substitute so to get back into the programming game. In order for this to work, you would need to install the .NET Framework 2.0 Runtime from Microsoft. The IC#Code website has the necessary links to get the pre-requisites you need to run this great IDE for C#.

True Love - The Next Generation

Tam-Shui, Cycling

Last Saturday, we went to Tam-shui, a district North of Taipei with a number of colleagues from work. It was a cycling event where we got there and hired the bicycles and roamed around the Bali penisula. It was a lot of fun and beats staying at home. We hired a 4 person cycle where Chien-yu and I did most of the cycling. It was rather tiring since its been a long long while sincei did any exercise, but it was fun anyhow. It was also good to take Amelie to see different places. She enjoyed the fast boat ride which took us from Tam-shui pier to the Bali penisula. My colleagues, was also there with us too, enjoying the outing. There was Hank, David H, Alex, Mary, Vanessa, Penny and her three friends, Gavin, Amber, Donny and his girlfriend. I would to say a special thanks to Vanessa, who had organised the outing (and previous outings too). Vanessa went through many brochures and made many calls to plan the day. Thank you Vanessa! Outings like this would never happen without you!
