Earth Day at Google UK

If like me, you have Google UK set as your homepage for your favourite internet browser , you would have noticed that gone all black. Why? Well because its Earth hour, an opportunity to switch off the lights for an hour to save the world from increasing carbon emissions. Well, does it work? I don't know to be honest, but its a way to get environment issues noticed, especially on the web. But bear in mind I had to switch on and use some electricity to actually write this post. I'm no expert in environment saving and all that (I do know my friend Netty has a few things to say about the environment), but I'll try to do my best in doing my little bit to help the environment.

Windows Live Skydrive

Checking my hotmail account and came across this Skydrive . Looks like 5GB of free online storage space which can be accessed from any computer (via the web browser). So, I thought I'd share the news. Go, get your free online space for your file storage and sharing needs!

pYzam

You might have noticed that I had recently changed my blog template/design. Although I like the Blogger engine, it lacked some of the really good looking templates which WordPress.com has. So I did a search around on the web and found this website, pYzam ( http://www.pyzam.com/bloggertemplates ). It has many Blogger templates which are available for free. Some groovy, some dark, some bright, some are scenic and some abstract ones too. The choice is almost unlimited. I say almost, because if you look closely, you will notice they follow a basic style of two-columns in square boxes, with a header box which displays the blog's name and description and depending on the theme you choose, the background is different with different combinations of colours. Still for me, its more choice, and I like to have choice. The default templates provided by Blogger are great, but it would be nice to have more :-) Applying the new template is not rocket science either. You just sign-in into

100 C64 Games In 10 Minutes

Another video I came across on YouTube, and stepping back another generation of gaming, the Amiga's predecessor, the Commodore 64 (C64) , my very first computer, bought from Stewart Electronics on Penny Meadow in Ashton-under-Lyne. Another one for you Kalps, how many can you name?

Amiga Music

Carrying on the nostalgia of my Amiga days, I came across this website, amigamusic.com . Miss the music from your favourite Amiga game? Come here and search for the mp3 and listen to it on your iPod until your heart is content and you are wallowing in your long forgotten adolescent feelings when you first grabbed the Quickshot II Plus joystick, waiting for your favourite, addictive and original game to load from its three and half inch double density floppy disk.....ah. Geeky? Yes, absolutely. Making you feel the good old times and remembering those care-free days? Fantastic. Here's a sample from YouTube for Lotus 2. Hope you like it and may it bring back those happy days :-)
