Movie Night - Pirates of The Carribean, Dead Man's Chest

Our company treated us to a night of movie fun at the Breeze Centre, not far from Sogo department store, Taipei. What did we watch? Why, Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom and their co-stars in Pirates of the Carribean, Dead Man's Chest.

It was a great movie, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of action and not to mention comedy, especially the Johnny Depp kind. Orlando Bloom wasn't too bad either, with his action comedy scenes. The special effects used wasn't so bad either, especially making Captain Davy Jones look like an walking octopus-head pirate sailor was quite impressive, and not to mention the Kraken! If one of those came after me, I wouldn't have a clue how to deal with it! My pants would certainly change into a different colour!

The annoying thing is the end, it leaves us at such a cliff hanger, and we all just know we need to watch the third installment of those pirates from the Carribean.

Although the movie was great, less could be said about the pop-corn we had. I am sure it was made 3 days ago...

This morning, Saturday, Amelie and I got woken up by a lot of shouting outside in the living area. The father-in-law had come to pick up his son, Shu-yu today, and at the same time to his wife that the house is untidy and why is his son still wearing Winter clothes etc. Sounds like the usual Saturday morning there.

Amelie is watching me type this, and as usual curiosity has taken over her, trying to press various buttons on my notebook and talking to me in some alien language. Ah bless her for taken interest in a blog which is for her. Actually, this blog was started when she was 15 weeks old in her mother's womb! Lets see whether she will continue this when she gets older. I will make more of an effort to record more Amelie-related antics in the near future. As usual, it would be posted with many of her photos. You can always find more photos at my homepage too, if you got nothing better to do.

At this moment, Amelie is trying to put her shoes on, which means Chien-yu and I have to get ready to go out. Until next time, have a great weekend!

Lunch with Grandma Ng - Japanese Style

For lunch, after praying at Grandpa's resting place, we set off to a local Japanese restuarant which Grandma likes very much. I went for the roasted eel in teriyaki sauce with rice. It was really really nice, and could have had another two bowls. Grandma's favourite dish was the barbecued squid. We also have pan-fried dumplings, beef rice-don, and my Aunt ordered her favourite sushi rolls. Really enjoyed that meal! More photos here .

Its been a while!

Hey all, sorry, had been away for so long.  Sometimes have so many things going on and so many thoughts, not sure what to write. Life update is that we've moved out of the in-laws place, and renting an apartment in the city.  It's not brand new. No lifts, and we live on the top floor, but it's my home now. Just recently been in hospital for stomach ulcers causing internal bleeding.  Nightmare, when you wasn't allowed to eat or drink for 4 days.  But I'm back home now, but only this morning, I discovered I now have a gout attack.  FML. Anyway, life continues to surprise or annoy me in new and fascinating ways. Mimi is still with us by the way, always staying loyal and guarding. Until next time.

Homeward Bound

Hello again, thought I'd give an update of what's going on in my mundane life. After chatting with my wife, We will be moving back to my parents's home in Manchester (well Ashon-under-Lyne to be precise). We feel it would be better for her to have people around like our friends and family should anything happen. Plus I get to hang out with my friends again! As with my work, I will still be working at my current job in London. The plan is that I will be travelling to London to work in the office for three days (Tuesday to Thrusday) and work from home in Manchester for the other two days. I felt it was a good compromise, and I'll get something back for the travel and accommodation costs (some but not all), plus I'll will be stilling working and earning the dough. Now we're in the middle of putting stuff in boxes ready for the big move in mid-June. Dug out a lot of stuff that we don't need, so we'll be holding a car boot sale to make some ca...
