After a hectic 3 days, we finally taking a little break for the day. Well, actually, its not much of a rest. Amelie seemed to have developed a fever after we returned from the banquet last evening. We got rather worried, so I left the wedding evening reception early to run to the local Asda to pick up some Calpol and other bits and pieces. This morning, we called up the local practice for an appointment with the doctor. Luckily there was a cancellation, so we got that apppointment.
The doctor told us that its something viral, and it'll probably go away as quickly as it came. I just checked on Amelie now while she was sleeping and it seems her temperature has gone back to normal and sweated a lot. That's normally a good sign when she's sweating it all out during a sleep. Its a good sign that she's on the road to recovery. But she still needs to take some medicine prescribed by the doctor which is a bit of nightmare since Amelie is very adament that she's not going to take anything. The doctor advised us to use a syringe and squirt it into her mouth. All is good, but we didn't have a syringe. We went to all the pharmacies in the town, but all have run out of stock. I ended travelling to Chorlton-cum-Hardy to visit my mum's workplace and ask for the boss, Richard to lend me his medicine syringe. He had a lot of spares, so I was grateful when he gave me a couple to take home. So far so good. Although a lot of travelling was done today, it was worth the while since Amelie can get better sooner.
While buying some medicine the night before, I managed to get Terry Pratchett's latest Discworld adventure, Thud!. Have already started it and I am enjoying it already. Hopefully, I'll get more reading done while I'm here in UK.
The weather again was quite good. I have been admiring the sky a lot since I have returned to UK, and have been meaning to take photos in and around my home-town of Ashton-under-Lyne. Hopefully, when a get a few more moments, I'll take the tripod and camera out to take some pictures.
Nothing to report on today really, since we just stayed indoors to get some rest. No plans for tomorrow yet, but will let you know in the next post.
